Current Conservation carries the latest in research news from the natural- and social-science facets of conservation, such as conservation biology, environmental history, anthropology and sociology, ecological economics, landscape ecology, etc. Current Conservation also periodically translates the content of other conservation journals, reprinting the articles in a language that is accessible to a wide readership. Current Conservation has formed partnerships with Biological Conservation, Endangered Species Research and Conservation and Society to promote the dissemination of published conservation research.

Current Conservation is published by an informal alliance of natural and social scientists to promote interdisciplinary research in conservation and to foster communication among scientists, resource managers, educators and policy makers. Current Conservation is an open access journal, published and distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (http://www.creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.5/).
