Features are topical pieces on current issues or research in conservation (typically 1500 to 2500 words). These should be thoroughly researched and reflect what is currently known about the topic from published science. We recommend that submissions include references to key literature, though the final accepted article may include only one or two key references, sources or further reading.

Perspectives are opinion pieces: short articles that focus on a particular topic presenting a particular point of view or argument (typically 750 to 1000 words). Perspectives are usually invited pieces, but you may contact us with a short proposal.

Book Shelf
We publish book reviews (~500 to 1000 words) on both current books (Hot off the press) as well as old classics that have been forgotten (Books from the Attic) but have current relevance. Please contact us in advance if you want to review a book for us.

Cutting Edge
Cutting Edge features reader-friendly summaries of recently published research in conservation science (~ 250 to 300 words). These can include papers in the fields of ecology, wildlife biology, conservation biology, environmental history, anthropology and sociology, ecological economics, and related fields of research. The papers should be published in respected international journals. Students are encouraged to submit research summaries, and will receive assistance from the editorial team. You can submit these summaries directly or suggest a paper that you would like to summarise for us.
