Karthika Chandran is a Ph.D. Scholar in the PG and Research Department of Zoology at Farook College, University of Calicut, Kerala. Her childhood passion and love for animals and Nature pushed her to pursue a Master’s degree in Wildlife Studies. She enjoys spending quality time out in the wild, observing animal behaviour, especially mixed-species flocking behaviour of birds which she is currently working on for her Ph.D. Writing down her experiences and thoughts on Nature have been her favourite stress buster and she believes this helped her win the M. Krishnan Memorial Nature Writing Award 2020. She wishes to make good use of the skill to help people feel a better connection with the natural world through her research and writings.
