Aparajita Datta leads NCF’s Eastern Himalaya programme, under which research and community-based conservation with hornbills as a
flagship has been carried out for 20 years. She has been a member of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and a member of
the State Wildlife Advisory Board of Arunachal Pradesh. She has evaluated and critiqued proposed dam projects in Arunachal. Her interests
include plant–animal interactions, understanding human impacts on wildlife, and engaging with tribal communities for conservation.
