Jacy S Bernath-Plaisted

Jacy is an applied avian ecologist and researcher with a broad interest in the conservation of grasslands and grassland birds, climate adaptation, and solutions for working landscapes. Jacy’s past work has examined specific applications, such as the effects of energy development on grassland songbirds in the Northern Great Plains, and exploring full annual cycle demographics for sensitive grassland bird species. In his present capacity as an Applied Conservation Scientist at non-profit Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, Jacy works to better connect research and management, explore the effectiveness of Farm Bill practices for North American Bird conservation, and to translate science for decision makers. Jacy is passionate about finding opportunities to explore how land use can support wildlife, ecosystem services, and human needs and livelihoods.
