Karthika Chandran

Karthika Chandran is  a Ph.D. Scholar in the PG and Research Department of Zoology at Farook College, University of Calicut, Kerala. Her childhood passion and love for animals and Nature pushed her to pursue a Master’s degree in Wildlife Studies. She enjoys spending quality time out in the wild, observing animal behaviour, especially mixed-species flocking behaviour of birds which she is currently working on for her Ph.D. Writing down her experiences and thoughts on Nature have been her favourite stress buster and she believes this helped her win the M. Krishnan Memorial Nature Writing Award 2020. She wishes to make good use of the skill to help people feel a better connection with the natural world through her research and writings.

Nina Simon is a interested in reproduction of vulnerable organisms, currently studying coral reproductive patterns in the Lakshadweep islands through the Zoological Survey of India and the Forest Department under the University of Madras.

Seetha works with Care Earth Trust, a biodiversity conservation organisation based out of Chennai. She has authored ‘Home of the blue lily’, an illustrated manual on wetland ecology for children.

Ajith Raj

Ajith Raj is a researcher, currently working with Dakshin Foundation, Bangalore. He is doing the research on fishermen community from the unique pole and line fishery of Lakshadweep atolls of India. He is enthusiastic about listening to stories and learning the art of storytelling. He is also interested in singing and writing.

Nachiketha Sharma is interested in animal behaviour and cognition. Currently, he is studying free-ranging Asian elephants in South India.
