Donald Baird is a Visiting Research Professor at the Department of Biology, University of New Brunswick and a Fellow of the Canadian Rivers Institute.  He has over 40 years of experience as an ecologist working on freshwater ecosystems.  His current research focus is on watershed rewilding and cross-ecosystem habitat linkages between insects and aerial insectivores (birds and bats).
